PIED takes cognizant of the role of research in producing generalizable knowledge to guide evidence-based decision-making. In this respect, PIED aims to conduct high-quality and innovative research across its thematic areas using different research designs and approaches to generate relevant actionable insights for addressing socio-economic, environmental, and health-related problems through effective evidence-based policy development and implementation, progressing programming, and best practice. The overall goal is to ensure a high return on investment and to promote improved healthcare delivery, health outcomes, and better quality of life.
