Health Programs

Health outcomes are influenced by various factors, including underlying genetics and health behaviors to social and environmental factors as well as health care. In this respect, PIED is committed to addressing these determinants of health using evidence-based interventions, policies, and practices to promote better health outcomes by preventing diseases and injuries, protecting the public against harm, and reducing health disparities.

The Case Management Program

The Case Management Program promotes quality of life through the provision of integrated and affordable preventive and curative Health Care Services particularly in HIV/AIDS services, Family Planning, Reproductive Health, and Maternal and Child Health while promoting community participation, ownership, and collaboration between public and private service providers in Kenya. PIED seeks to provide general and specialized medical services to all populations through the establishment of Clinics. This shall provide out-patient and in-patient services including but not limited to general and specialized healthcare services such as Reproductive Health, Maternal and Child Health, Family Planning, HIV/AIDS, Diagnostic Laboratory services and dispensing.

Behaviour Change Communication Program

Behavior Change Communication (BCC) Program addresses HIV prevention among most at risk (MARP) or general populations and is implemented in partnership with National Aid Control Council and financed by TOWA Fund in Kamukunji Constituency-Nairobi. Capacity building, community mobilization, counseling, testing, and referral are the main strategies.

We have also established a partnership with Kenya Alliance Against Malaria (KeNAAM) to benefit from global funding for Malaria interventions. We intend to distribute nets to residents in malaria endemic zones in addition to residual spraying, and environmental management in general, Capacity building, community mobilization, counseling, testing, and referral are the main strategies.
